- About Me
My name is Danielle Leigh. I am an graphic artist/illustrator and fashion/costume designer. I currently work as a graphic artist/designer for the company "LA movers". In the past, I worked as a freelance graphic artist for the companies "Tru Gossip", "Awake Clothing" and "Total Access" (our clients have ranged from Hot Topic, Fred Segal, Wet Seal, Forvever 21, Urban Outfitters, Target, Normstroms, Dillards, Maurcies, Dots, Macy's, JC Penny's and Sears). I also have worked as a merchandiser for "LF Stores" (a chain of high-end clothing boutiques across the US...some of our Celebrity Clientele are Eva Longoria, Misha Barton, Nicole Richie, Jessica Alba, Heather Locklear, Lindsey Lohan, Jessica Biel, Pairs and Nicki Hilton).
Within the last 2 years... I have started my own clothing line "In Listed 4 Love". I've been a semi-fianlist for the hit TV Show 'Project Runway". I have also done costumes designs and illustrations for the Miss World Beauty Pageant Competition "Miss Jamaica", the play "God of Vengeance", the movie "Age of Kali" and "The New Salem Witch District" a graphic novel. As well as produced my own fashion shows for LA fashion Week "Prodigium-Fashion for a Cure" for The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson Disease...in conjunction with Zalman King Productions (Director-Producer of 9 1/2 Weeks, Angel Heart, The Red Shoes Diaries and 40 Deuce) and "Give Peace a Chance" a charity fashion/art show that raised money for families who have lost love ones in the Iraq war. I also had the honor of designing an Oscar dress for Julie Bob Lombardi (editor of "Super Size Me"). I have also appeared on the TV Show "Fashionista" on My Music Plus TV. As a Fashion Stylist/Art Director, I have done editorials for Zink, Eurotuner, TIGI, OYE, Maxim, Playboy and BPM magazine. I've also design look books/press kits for Michael Antonio Shoes and LF Stores as well as CD covers for KIRV Records.
Some things that l did just for the hell of it: I recorded a few songs with music producer Kevin Irving (Kirv Records) and Nel Grome (Parrot Recording). I acted in a horror film called "Screaming Night"...that is getting a pretty big cult following. I've worked as an assistant stylist on the music video "Girl" for BECK. I also have an interest in Visual Effects and Computer/Cell Animation...I used to work as a production coordinator for Sony Pictures Imageworks (before I went into fashion). My biggest artistic honor (myself portrait was exhibited in the US Capitol for a year...and I a certificate of artistic merit from actor Tom Cruise, Ex-President Bill Clinton and the Endowment of the Arts). I have also done portraits for actress Meg Tilly and her ex-Husband John Calley (former Sony Pictures CEO and Producer of "Closer" and the "Da Vinci Code").
Life, It really is a funny thing. I think the wisest thing that I ever told a friend...was that I perceive life as this huge theatrical production and every day is audition day. Sometimes I do think... that we spend half of our lives searching for that perfect role and sometimes we just don't find it. It's almost as if we are all so desperately trying to be that star...hell sometimes I think
I rather be the director.
GOD, do you realize how easy my life would be...if I could yell action every time things were going great and then be able to yell cut, right before I make a jackass out of myself. But I guess life was never meant to be so easy in a world were black and white is still divided. True and false can only equal maybe. And where love is no longer a fairytale. Because your hate has consumed and your lies have damn you...but yet the truth can still set you free.
And yet, the only thing that I honestly do know...is that for the last 4 years
of my life...My strength has been my religion. My scriptures have been those little memorable quotes from my friends that I can put inside a fortune cookie. My communion wafer a pop tart. My wine a cup of black coffee with two packs sweet and low. And my confessional has been a theater audition
(I can yell, I scream, I can laugh, I can cry...and they listen to me). And my God as been my conscience...my inner voice deep inside...which tells me what is right and what is wrong. I guess this who I am....and I guess this my role in life.

"Who Am I?"
To whom it may concern: You could have asked me a simpler question? Like the meaning of life perhaps? But WHO AM I? A paradox, A puzzle, A million dollar question...with no answer pending?
I feel like a child! An inquisitive two-year old whose favorite word is why. Why am I here? Why was I born...and why should I care? I know I am not a savior...nor do I pretend to act like one! I have not escaped this world unscathed from sin. I'm not perfect...just human. But I often do think about the purpose of life and it's importance.
The brotherhood of man...Peace on Earth...and the Exploration of Man. That mankind has been to the moon and back. We have explored outer space and yet our inner space within...still remains uncharted sometimes. I look at myself in the mirror and I see Alice. A little lost girl trapped in world of Mad Hatters...or the ones that I have created in side my head (searching for a Wonderland). Does it exist? Is it a dream? Or fear, fear of smashing through that looking glass in order to find it.
So WHO AM I? A Paradox, A puzzle...A million dollar question with no answer pending? My mind is blank and my cheat sheet is filled with only question marks. I have all these questions that are still left unanswered and yet I feel like I have one more minute left to go, before my audition to this world has expired...and I still don't know who I am? So Who Am I? I honestly don't know, but what I do know...is that I am person that believes you should seize the day and live for it. That life is not about someday, but is about today. I am not afraid of failure, but I am afraid of looking back twenty years from now and being only left with the phrase "What if". Life is not about "What ifs" it is about self-choice and what you do with that choice. And my dream, though it may not be as elegant as Dr King's. Is that one-day I will not be judged, evaluated and discriminated based on what I look like on this sheet of paper in front of you. But instead as an individual that challenges you try to figure out the pieces of that puzzle that define the person within. So who am I, does this answer your question?
Sincerely,
Danielle Leigh Davis

Networking
- I love
funny and crazy people, people that are educate about the world...people with imagination and talent...who are not afraid to go after their dreams.
- Pet Peeves
Self absorbed people who only care/talk about themselves. People who have nothing to say about the world we live in (educate yourself... and stop watching Reality TV & reading Gossip Magazines). I also tend to dislike people that never have an opinion on anything or lack passion about a cause (I don't care if people think differently than me...I just want them to care about something). I also dislike people that blame other people for their own F@*ck-ups (people need to look at themselves sometimes and realize they must be the change they wish to see...and it all starts with the man in the mirror first). There also comes a time when you have to grow-up and stop blaming the man, your parents and society for your own mistakes. I also don't like overly needy people (people need to get a hobby...develop a creative/physical outlet of some sort...instead of wanting people to fill that void....learn to "Love Yourself"...instead of expecting people to love you). I also don't like girls or guys that abandon all their friends once get a boyfriend or girlfriend (but as soon as they break-up...they end up calling you every 20 minutes wanting to hang out...that is just not cool). Finally...I really dislike over dramatic people...I don't want self induce drama in my life (if i wanted drama... than I would watch "All My Children").
