What is UXOs/UXBs?
Unexploded ordnance (or UXOs/UXBs) are explosive weapons (bombs, shells, grenades, land mines, naval mines, etc.) that did not explode when they were employed and still pose a risk of detonation, potentially many decades after they were used or discarded.
What is bomb Disposal?
Bomb disposal is the process by which hazardous explosive devices are rendered safe. "Bomb disposal" is an all encompassing term to describe the separate, but interrelated, fields of military (IEDD, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD), public safety (Public Safety Bomb Disposal, PSBT, Bomb Squad) and civilian (Unexploded Ordnance, UXO) operations.
