Full name these days to be Brigitte Szychowski-VanBaelen (can I make it any longer...). Living in the Deepest of the Deep South... Savannah. We are fortunate that we can swim with the dolphins, turtles and fishes (we care not to think about the shark sightings or alligators for that matter), trying to understand the locals (impossible), trying to keep up with the pace (come one, faster already - not everything needs to take a long time), and real pretty oaks covered in spanish and resurrection moss...hmmm very romantic
Current Location
Isle of Hope, GA
Pet(s)
Our old man Jax, a short-legged very feisty 14 year old jack russell; Ralphie, our beta fish that thinks he has a double in the mirror (he must have split personalities by now), lots of koi and any animal that wishes to stop by has a home...
Family History
Pure Belgian blood (Flemish) blended with some Scottish and Polish in my husband. Elfin was born in Canada, grew up in Lawrence, KS and Oklahoma City, OK before coming to Savannah, GA - will officially never leave here. Me.. born and raised in Belgium, moved to US in '95 (Chicago, San Francisco, Palm Beach, Savannah). I guess I am a southern girl now - I even get blamed for having a southern accent while shopping in Paris (something is wrong with this picture!)
Best Vacation
South Africa... driving from Johannesburg to Capetown. Most wonderful places, people and views I have ever seen.
Important Dates
April 7, 2007: We got married... just what I thought it would have to be like.. except for it could have been a tad bit warmer (but, no bugs, which is awonder in the low country this time of year)
