The Ron Paul campaign depends on all of its supporters; both those who volunteer their time and those who donate. Without their passion and enthusiasm, we would not be where we are now. We will be featuring a different supporter each week, highlighting their contributions to the campaign. Please send your nominations to mail@ronpaul2008.com with the Subject Line: Featured Supporter Nomination.

Esther Kraycik

Part-time Philadelphia student, part-time cashier at Whole Foods and full-time Ron Paul supporter, Esther Kraycik believes that the government ’s stranglehold on its people is being loosened by the Ron Paul Revolution. Esther volunteers at a homeless shelter for mentally ill women and has never been involved in politics before. Ron Paul has opened her eyes and showed her that there is real hope for change in this country.

What was it about Ron Paul that most attracted you to become a supporter?
Ron Paul is the only politician I have ever heard speak who is completely genuine about what he believes, honest about the crises our country faces, and willing to actually do something about it. I am afraid of the North American Union and the Real ID act. I don ’t want to pay an unconstitutional income tax or be lied to about preemptive, unnecessary wars. I want the government to serve the people, not the other way around, and Ron Paul stands for a limited government with maximum freedom for the people.

What political experience did you have prior to being involved in the grassroots campaign for Dr. Paul?
I have no political experience. I ’ve been able to vote for seven years and haven’t done so once. I knew I wasn’t satisfied with the system, but saw no opportunity for change until now.

How do you help to spread Ron Paul’s message?
I started volunteering for the Ron Paul campaign by painting Ron Paul Revolution banners and hanging them on highway overpasses. I ’ve gone door to door campaigning in New Hampshire, attended a rally in Orlando, Florida, and helped promote the Independence Mall Rally at a couple college campuses here in Philadelphia. I also inform and educate my Democratic Hillary Clinton political science teacher on the wonders of Ron Paul.

What has been the most exciting aspect of the grassroots campaign?
The most exciting thing about the campaign is the amount of energy it generates. It ’s so awesome how quickly and easily Ron Paul’s message is spread and accepted. Everywhere I go there are more and more people that I feel inherently connected to, kind of like a big family. It’s like, “You like Ron Paul? So do I!”

What has been the most fun you’ve had during the grassroots campaign?
The most fun I ’ve had with the campaign was promoting and attending the Independence Mall rally. It was really gratifying to work for something so important and then to see 5,000 people show up was amazing.

Why is the 2008 election so important and what does Ron Paul bring to the table?
I think the 2008 election is particularly important because of the free reign our government currently has over its citizens. George Bush has expanded the executive powers beyond belief and we are losing the basic rights and freedom this country was founded on. Ron Paul has always upheld his constituents ’ liberties and he will restore the people’s Constitution.
What is one of Dr. Paul ’s most important messages that is overlooked by the mainstream media?
I hate the fact that the mainstream media persists in calling Ron Paul an isolationist, while his actual goal is non-interventionism. They are twisting his message and overlooking our country ’s foreign policy as we police 130 nations around the world.

If Ron Paul is elected as president, what would be the first change you would hope to see him enact?
When Ron Paul is inaugurated I look forward to the repeal of the Patriot Act, the Real ID Act, and the eradication of the IRS.
