Hunting
I’ve been an avid hunter ever since I can remember. Hunting has always been a very big part of my family’s life and their love for nature and animals rubbed off on me. The most exciting memories from my childhood were when my parents harvested animals on their hunting excursions. They began to educate me at a very young age when they would teach me how to blood trail animals. I truly became infatuated with hunting when I became old enough to shoot a gun and pull back a bow. Even the complex system of an animal fascinated me. When I shot my first buck, I jumped at the opportunity to field dress it, which I found to be very enjoyable and interesting. I have field dressed my animals ever since. I have also had the chance to hunt in many areas of the country, which has enabled me to become experienced with different types of animals and locations. Hunting is a huge part of my life and the person that I am. It’s very interesting to see peoples’ reaction towards my hunting, mainly because I am a female. I love proving to people that women can hunt too; it’s not just a guys’ sport.
