Birthed in the residence of an aged city suburb, and almost a decade thereafter relocating to the fresh mountain air and rolling hills of the Canadian Rockies, this young belle's artistry was carefully nurtured by family, places, city and nature. Mum and Dad were always a big influence when encouraging Lacy's creative voice, Dad was an artist, self taught whom worked freelance on western film sets and a self conceived window art business, often bringing Lacy to work with him. Lacy's mother, had a history of fine tailoring and dressmaking, and would assemble dresses for Lacy based on her childhood drawings.
As Lacy grew her skills in art and dressmaking grew too, causing her to form her own personal collections, thus entitling the couture collective Ephoe.
Ephoe Inc. began performing local apparel shows along the western coast of Canada, working with local companies to create apparel lines, and individuals on custom couture. Lacy then to moved, temporarily basing herself in London whilst designing product for fashion distribution companies.
Travels from Asia to America had shown the world at large in art and design, aspects Lacy could mash and mangle into her own renditions of neoculture. Her first international debut took place February 2007 in New York where she showcased a small collection of select couture in a 9th floor art gallery to the arrhythmic sounds of Paul & Price.
Ephoe couture acquired international appeal with blog sites, small media groups and individuals alike.
Recently Ephoe Inc. has been indepthly refined and moved to base in Los Angeles ,California
The Projects of Ephoe Inc. are things inspired by surroundings, but grown from within.
Meaning of Ephoe
A word derived from the Hebrew term 'Ephod', meaning a sacred vestment originally designed for the high priest (Ex 28:4; 39:2), and made "of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. The vestment was held together by two shoulder-pieces and a skillfully woven band which served as a girdle for the ephod. On the shoulder pieces were two onyx stones on which were engraved the names of the twelve tribes of Israel ( meaning each race on the earth) Attached to the ephod by chains of pure gold was a breastplate containing twelve precious stones of the twelve tribes in four rows. Underneath the ephod was the blue robe of the ephod extending to the feet of the priest. The robe of the ephod was thus a garment comprising, in addition to the long robe proper, the ephod with its shoulder pieces and the breastplate of judgment.
The Ephod was worn when the priest went into the Holy Holies where the Lord dwelled in the Arc of the Covenant, to repent of the worlds sins. A multitude of days were spent prior cleansing the mind, soul and body before the ceremony between God and Priest took place.
Ephoe is the plural affiliation of the above definition.
