Photobucket Well, I finally met my culinary icon, Lidia Bastianich at her book signing in Barnes & Noble. For years I have watched her show and learned the intricate ways of Italian (even though I'm Greek) cooking. if you are a fan of the FoodNetwork, please take the time to switch to PBS and view Lidia's show. She cooks real, homestyle food without all the flash. She grows her own herbs in her back yard and has her family eat whatever she cooks, as it is filmed in her house. We recently went to her restaurant in NYC called Becco and it was fantastic. Fore our first wedding anniversary, Christa bought me her first two books, autographed with a personal message. If the saying is true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then Lidia had me at "Mangia!"
