About the Film
An intimate and candid end of life story that will unexpectedly open your heart and uplift your spirit.

"I would like to share a miracle with you. After a three and a half year battle for his life, my 34 year-old Son Shane was told he had two months to live. I hoped for a miracle. My son's miracle arrived in the form of three strangers.”
Andrea Benson (Shane’s mother)

VISITING SHANE reveals the profound and inspiring impact three hospice volunteers had on a mother and her dying son during his final days. Presented from the POV of one of the volunteers (filmmaker-Varda Hardy), this documentary is a uniquely intimate and candid portrait of a young veteran, Shane Lewis, whose body is rapidly becoming paralyzed. Shane's mother is disarming as she speaks candidly about the emotional and spiritual roller coaster ride she and her son endured, and how in the face of his impending death, Shane found fulfillment through the three volunteers who visited him.
