About the Business
The Rock CF Foundation is a 501(c)3 non profit corporation. Rock CF uses the arts and entertainment, fashion and fitness to increase awareness and raise funds to help improve the quality of life for Cystic Fibrosis patients. Rock CF was started and thought up by Emily Schaller, a 25 year old young woman living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Emily was diagnosed with CF when she was 18 months old and has always been very optimistic and open about her CF, but she wanted to make it public. Her goal is to let as many people learn about Cystic Fibrosis as she can, raise millions of dollars for CF research and have that satisfaction that she has helped someone else with CF (or someone without CF). Just Let Me Breathe is an annual rock and roll benefit concert in Detroit that has raised over $50,000 in the past four years. Rock CF is the producer and promoter for the event. City to City Ride 07 was a bike ride that Emily and her friend Kevin completed in the summer of 2007. Emily and Kevin biked from Downtown Detroit to Grant Park in Chicago. The ride took six days and the two traveled along US 12/Michigan Avenue the entire way. So for the ride has brought in $7,500! Other events are in the works and they include more benefit concerts, theatrical productions, art shows, fashion shows and a renovated Rock CF clothing line.
