Rod's not online at the moment, doesn't have his own website . . .
So we made one for him until he gets up and running again.

Resume
I live with my wife Patty on the Philmont Scout Ranch, located near Cimarron, N.M. on the southeastern slope of the Sangre De christo Mountains. In 1975 I graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas and studied Agricultural Science at Texas Tech University. While in high school and college I worked at the C Bar Ranch near Slaton, Tx, and spent several summers as a wrangler at Philmont. In '76 I went to work on the 500,000 acre Vermejo Park Ranch, near Raton, N.M., where I had the Van Houton Cow Camp. In '78-'79 I was on the Little Horn ranch near Wyola, Montana. I hired on with the TO Ranch, Raton, N.M. in '80 and spent several years at the Penix Camp. In '82 I was at the UU Bar. Since '83 I've cowboyed at Philmont where I have responsibility for the cowherd and help with the other livestock to include horses, buffalo, and burros. I've been playing music for more than 30 years, solo and with my band "The Rifters." We often play around northern N.M, southern Colorado, and occasionally farther from home. For years now I've enjoyed performing at many of the cowboy gatherings around the contry to include The Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Alpine, Tx., The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering in Prescott, and the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Okla. City. In May of 1990 I released an album, "Ridin' Down the Canyon," which is a collection of classic and contemporary cowboy songs, and a couple of originals. In the spring of '95 I released an album of mostly folk songs that I performed and co-produced for Philmont entitled "A Philmont Collection." In 2004 my band The Rifters released our first album, self titled, of mostly original tunes. I've had several acting roles over the years. I was the deputy sheriff in Ron Howard's film "The Missing." I was a guitar player in Stephen Frear's film "Hi Low - Country." I played the character of deputy sheriff in the "Angel Maker" episode of "Lazarus Man." I was a gunfighter in a PBS documentary, and I did a Toyota commercial directed by Kevin Godley. In '92 I played Tish Hinojosa's boyfriend in her CMT video "In The Real West." There have been a few others. For many years I coached baseball and am still actively involved in the Cimarron men's organization, the Maverick Club. We put on the annual 4th of July rodeo and several ropings, and raise money for a number of charitable orgainzations.
