Pearl Aday toured as a member of Meat Loaf's band The Neverland Express for nine years. Meat's daughter Pearl began touring with him in 1994, providing background vocals for the summer leg of the Bat Out Of Hell 2, world tour. She also appears on Meat's recent releases, "Welcome to the Neighborhood," "Live Around the World," "The Very Best of Meat Loaf," "Storytellers" and "Couldn't Have Said It Better."
She joined Meat's "Born to Rock" world tour, in May 1996, performing in Europe, Japan, Australia, the Middle East, and South Africa, including a stop at London's Royal Prince Albert Hall for a command performance of The Princes Trust Concert benefiting the charity headed by HRH Prince Charles. She was also part of the band when her father was chosen to perform at the 1997 United States Inaugural Ball for President Clinton in the U.S. Armory. In 1998 she performed as a member of Meat Loafs band on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, VH1s Storytellers, and numerous television specials throughout the UK and Europe. She also performed on the1999/2000 world tours, "The Very Best of" in the UK and Europe, and "VH1's Storytellers" tour in the USA.
During the summer and fall of 2000, Pearl began a stint as one of the "Crue Sluts", singing and dancing for the heavy metal band Motley Crue on their Maximum Rock tour through North America, Mexico, and Japan. During that time Pearl performed again on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and she is also featured on Motley Crue's Lewd, Crued, and Tattooed DVD. Among the many highlights of her time with Motley Crue, Pearl met Anthrax's founder and guitarist Scott Ian to whom she is now engaged, and is forging ahead with in the entertainment business.
In the fall of 2000, after wrapping it up with Motley Crue, Pearl sang a duet with singer songwriter James Michael, which was co-written and produced with Motley Crue founder and bassist Nikki Sixx. The song, titled "Man of Steel", was submitted to Meat Loaf for consideration for use on his next album, Couldn't Have Said It Better. In separate statements, both Nikki Sixx and Meat Loaf confirmed that the song would be used on the album and was recorded in April/May 2001 as a duet between Meat and Pearl. The album was released in 2003 and Man Of Steel was a big hit among the fans and on the charts.
Pearl, an Emerson College graduate with a Bachelors degree in creative writing is now focusing on her own solo effort, "Pearl". In collaboration with the members of the L.A. based band Mother Superior, and Scott Ian of Anthrax, she has recorded a self titled album, produced by Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Hole). Pearl are currently packing rooms all over Los Angeles and preparing for their live UK debut opening six sold-out arena dates for Meat Loaf in November of 2007. Get your tickets now!
