    Stuttgart. Against the backdrop of a difficult market environment, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG in Stuttgart supplied a total of 1,516 cars to North America in August – 1,404 to the USA and 112 to Canada. The 45 percent drop compared to the previous year is in line with Porsche expectations and can be explained by the upcoming launch of the new 911 Carrera and Targa models. Sales of the 911 range decreased by 58 per cent to 366 cars, which was down to its lifecycle.

    Setra Buses, a Daimler AG brand, has captured the renowned international “Bus of the Year 2009” award with a low-floor bus. The honor marks the second time the company has been presented the award, which it last received in 1996. The S 415 NF from the MultiClass 400 series finished well ahead of its rivals in the “Bus Euro Test 2008” competition that was held in Berlin. The judges focused on the vehicles’ suitability for everyday use, as well as their workmanship, design concept, and economy.
