Limited-Edition Designer Goods Featured in Holiday Pop-Up Shop
West Palm Beach/New York, November 8, 2007 - Ron Palillo, best known as the actor who played "Horshack" on 70's sit-com "Welcome Back, Kotter', is also a visual artist whose illustrations will debut today on a new line of limited edition T-shirts being sold exclusively on MOLI.com's Holiday Pop Up shop (www.moli.com/holidaypopup). Palillo's tees are presented by Rotter and Friends, and will be featured with several other up-and-coming indie designers, including Zakee Shariff, Katharine Sise and Highway Child.
Rotter and Friends' Jess Rotter's love of all things 60's and 70's, which has led her a long-standing a quest for wizard art and nostalgic tv clips, led her to a serendipitous meeting with Ron Palillo. Now Rotter and Friends is proud to present Ron Palillo as its first guest artist, featuring Palillo's unreleased artwork from the 70's. Check out (http://www.moli.com/RonPalillo) for a clip of Ron on Bill O'Reilly factor wearing the tee featured in this shop.
Other designers featured in MOLI's Holiday Pop Up Shop include:
Zakee Shariff:
Passionate about print, textiles and color, London based designer and artist Zakee Shariff is inspired by her natural surroundings to create beautiful imagery in which both soft and strong moods happily coexist. In 1996 she launched the Zakee Shariff ladies clothing collection, with a younger diffusion line called Maggie introduced in 2001. Having trained as a textile designer/artist, Zakee is renowned for creating simple, comfortable, beautiful garments that combine her illustrative style with a keen attention to detail and a strong palette of complementary colours.
Looking beyond fashion has opened many new creative doors, although Zakee's aim remains the same - to touch people through her work. Despite her varied output, Zakee's elegant designs and hand-drawn imagery remain to be her signature. Indeed, whether applied to fabric, paper, canvas, clothing, wallpaper, album cover artwork, or any other medium, her creations are instantly identifiable as 'Zakee Shariff's. Like a beautiful dream, all that's really required to enter Zakee's world is a willingness to open up, let go, and enjoy the ride...
Highway Child
HIGHWAY CHILD is a wild-hearted, romantic jewelry line founded two years ago by stylist Sarah McGovern which debuted in the Fall of 05 on the runway of NYC designer Jill Stuart. Inspired by her love of music, nature and vintage, HWC is an expression of freedom and beauty. Sarah started creating handcrafted pieces from glass crystals, sterling silver, bronze, rock crystals and vintage pieces.
House of Diehl
Dubbed "The Sid'n'Nancy of the fashion world," and MJ Diehl and Roman Milisic, the creative duo behind HOUSE of DIEHL, produce statement-making fashion and multimedia experiences that blur the boundaries between fashion, art, music, and performance. Their clothes have been seen on the red carpet and in music videos, on the likes of Naomi Watts, Eve (rapper) and and Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl" video.
They are also the masterminds behind "Style Wars," a live Style Battling competition that recently toured the United States to rave reviews (http://www.moli.com/stylewars).
