The Whole Grain Goodness of Oats
My friends and neighbors ask, "Juliana, how do you do it?"
Almost every morning, I eat a bowl of steaming hot oatmeal with a tablespoon of flax oil (instead of butter), and this is what I get:
Whole grain goodness
- Whole grains help flush fat and cholesterol out of your system and provide powerful antioxidants that help you stay healthier, look younger, and live longer.
- Whole grains can reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure and even help prevent heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Better digestion
- Oats bind to all the foods you've been eating that may not be so good for you.
- As an insoluble fiber, oats get the whole bolus moving along, and drag all foods through the digestive tract.
Healthy and necessary fatty acids
- Flax-seed oil contains omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, fiber protein, and zinc.
- Flax is rich in lignan, and research shows a low incidence of breast cancer and colon cancer in populations that have high amounts of lignan in their diet.
- Omega-3 fatty acids keeps hands from chapping and cracking.
- Nearly every system in the body, including the cardiovascular, immune, circulatory, reproductive, and nervous systems, can benefit from flax-seed oil's natural properties.
