Night of a Thousand Stevies

18 years and we'll never break the chain
Would
Stevie Nicks herself ever have thought that in 2008 (May 9 to be exact), the Jackie Factory and
Motherboards producers
Chi Chi Valenti,
Johnny Dynell, and
Hattie Hathaway would be celebrating 18 years of the legendary event
Night of a Thousand Stevies? Also known as NOTS, it is still quite a night, 18 years later, past the edge of 17 — a joke for those who know the song. Check out the photo gallery of
NOTS through the years!! This year was celebrated at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. Three sets with
DJ Sammy Jo spinning in between performers of all kinds, including the #1 Stevie Nicks impersonator from Nevada! People really do travel far and wide for this night. And some get to perform their own Stevie Nicks homage to a huge crowd in NYC.
There were also performances by glamorous NY drag stars such as Sherry Vine and Joey Arias, and gender-bending beauty Justin Bond. Miss Guy's new band Goon Squad played and there were oh so many others. Heather Rabbit, of the Jackie 60 Family, did a beautiful number as well, "Gold Dust Woman," complete with a glitter toss to the crowd. I discovered that twirling on stage during a Stevie Nicks song is the equivalent of singing an on-key high note on
Showtime at the Apollo: The crowd instantly goes wild!
