Renaissance Woman Heidi Minx, 2
Heidi Minx wants you to eat your vegetables!
Here is some more for you to chew on.
Tell me about the book you are working on. I know you mentioned all recipes will be vegetarian, which is so awesome! How long have you been a vegetarian, and what made you choose to be one?
The book is signed with a major publishing house, and it will include different sections that are also on the site. For the recipes, I'm reaching out to a lot of my musician friends for their favorite veggie recipes. (Theo, I can't wait to see the two you've promised!)
I have been a vegetarian on and off since I was a teenager. I've lived in countries where honestly, the meat offerings are a bit suspect, so that was one reason. My primary reason's now are my Buddhist beliefs and my health. There is no need to eat meat, we have plenty of food available, and so I really don't need to partake in an animal's slaughter purely for my enjoyment. When you think about it, that is all you are doing when you eat an animal. I also personally feel better when I don't eat it. The studies that are coming out of leading institutions like John Hopkins and Sloan-Kettering on the benefits of a vegetarian diet in preventing and curing cancer are very informative.
Ah yes, I too have been vegetarian for a long time. It always cracks me up when there's a news story such as: "Vegetables are good for you and studies have proved eating them will help you to avoid cancer." I'm always like, um yeah, ya think? Is it really such a mystery? I am very excited to contribute to this book!
