Phil Spector doffs hell toupee
With his fitted black suits and trademark shades, Spector was the epitome of '60s cool when he was producing hits for artists like the Crystals, the Ronettes, and the Righteous Brothers. But the bizarre, frightwig coif that launched this trial and the freaky blond Carol Channing/Little Lord Fauntleroy wig that he was sporting in March have done little to inspire confidence that the renowned gun-toting control freak is taking any of this particularly seriously.
Now, after five testimonies from women who claim to have been harassed at gunpoint while dating Spector, and the admission into evidence of some particularly damning comments made by the producer at a Joan Rivers dinner party (where he suggested the women there needed a "bullet in the head"), Phil's hair seems to be taking the low road. Gone is the tousled Michael Bolton 'do, as well as the Beethoven on acid look. These days, Phil's rug is about as harmless as a bowl-shaped furnace filter – which it vaguely resembles.
