THE PICKUP

About Seymour Duncan

View Profile

Seymour Duncan

Seymour Duncan is the man behind Seymour Duncan Pickups, the ultimate purveyor of guitar and bass pickups. Seymour has dedicated his life to creating some of the world's most identifiable guitar tones with various guitar pickups and his company prides itself on catering to musicians desiring unique and customized guitar pickups.

Seymour's fascination and love for guitars began when he was a young child and grew quickly as he spent time studying with other musicians. While learning the guitar, he became very interested in discovering how the guitar works and began to realize that it was his guitar, not his playing abilities which was holding back his progress. From that point, Seymour was determined to improve guitar tones with the development of customized guitar pickups.

The Band That Ate Tacoma
By Wendy Case/MOLI

On November 2 to 4, Cavestomp — that most venerated of '60s garage- and punk-preserving institutions — will welcome the reunited Sonics to Brooklyn's Warsaw club for two shows. But of all the rock 'n' roll reunions that I've witnessed, heard of, or dreamed about, this is the biggie.

Ears of the Beholder
By Wendy Case/MOLI

An audio exploration of the sound-sculpture installation "Rainforest IV" that went up at New York City performance space the Kitchen over the weekend, Saturday's "Weekend America" segment started with sounds that seemed unmistakably Amazonian. Perhaps the title helped paint the picture, but I was so certain that what I was hearing were the sounds of chirping crickets, squawking birds, and screeching monkeys that it was pretty amusing when the narrator finally revealed the truth.

Seymour Duncan is synonymous with pickups, like Les Paul and guitars. An honor to have you at MOLI.
