About Dale May

View Profile

Dale May

Known for photographing celebrities and musicians, Dale May prefers to create memorable photos rather than produce unrealistically perfect ones. His work has appeared on album covers, well-known magazines like Forbes, InStyle and Maxim as well as has been featured in numerous ads. With a background in photography from Parsons School of Design, Dale's eye for color, light and composition are unparalleled. His photographs are vivid in their use of color and the background and featured subject are highly detailed.

Dale also has a musical side, which he reveals as the lead singer for Satanicide, a rock metal group. To help promote the band, Dale created "Jer-Z-Knights" an 8-minute film chronicling a night in the life of Satanicide. In 2003, the film was featured at the Sundance Film Festival.

Making Ears Bleed

Depp Goes Gonzo
By Wendy Case/MOLI

Like Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken before him, few roles are impervious to Johnny Depp's mad skillz. Even when he makes a stinker (Once Upon a Time in Mexico anyone?), you still can't take your eyes off the guy.

Sympathy for the Record Industry for sale!
Courtesy of Little Radio

Sympathy for the Record Industry is looking for a buyer to own and run the label. According to Long Beach-based owner Long Gone John, he's basically grown tired of running the label and is looking to transplant himself to Olympia, Washington. The label has released some pretty outstanding material over the years: the White Stripes, Hole, Sonic Boom, the Von Bondies, the Muffs, Rocket From the Crypt, Roky Erickson, Suicide, the New York Dolls...do I need to go on? He's asking around $650,000 for the whole shebang, and that includes EVERYTHING.
