CANDY RUN

About Jason Maloney

View Profile

Jason Maloney

Helping to make every man's dream come true, Jason Maloney is the founder and co-host of Candy Run, the TV show and exclusive car race traversing five European countries in mid-July. As participants race their sports cars through each country, they stop in London, Paris, Nurburgring, Prague and Amsterdam and visit local gentleman's clubs to receive golden envelopes and the chance to win £20,000. After the European race, Jason is bringing Candy Run to the U.S., an equally illustrious event and still escorted by the fast cars and hot women.

Learning from NASCAR Racer Robby Gordon: Why Technology Is Critical
Courtesy of Smallbiztechnology

If you're like one of the other millions of Americans in this great country you LOVE watching car races. If you've watched racing for any decent length of time I'm sure you've seen Robby Gordon race.

He (and his team - Robby Gordon Motorsports) have raced in the Nascar Nextel Cup, Nascar Busch, Off Road Racing, the Indy 500 and the 16 day race in Dakar, as part of Team Dakar USA.

Robby Gordon's team, is probably his most important asset, but another key tool for his success is technology. Success Computer Consulting handles the teams technology and I asked them and Robby Gordon Motorsports some questions about their use of technology.

What are some unique aspects of Robby Gordon Motorsports that are unique to their business and not other small businesses?

Most businesses that manufacture a product don't.....destroy it! Racing is a dangerous sport and while total destruction is not the goal and would be rare, it is fair to say they build and rebuild cars all the time.

The King of Cool Rides

Steve McQueen-one of the coolest pop icons ever to defy authority-is known for more than his successful series Wanted: Dead or Alive and epic movies like The Blob. His action-packed roles in films such as Bullitt and The Great Escape had the actor racing through the streets in the top cars of the time, actions that inflamed his love for fine automobiles. The daredevil even performed his own stunts and race scenes while filming in order to spend more time behind the wheel!
It is no wonder that McQueen became a luxury car collector and racer, purchasing an MG as soon as he received his first checks from acting in the 1950s. Porches, a Siata, a Jaguar, and a Shelby Cobra soon made their way into McQueen's growing collection. But in 1963, the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso (a car often referred to as the cousin of the legendary Ferrari 250 GT SWB and 250 GTO) stole his heart.

What do the Paris Hilton sex tape and The Ultimate Ultimate Challenge/Starvation Island have in common? They're both produced by the notorious Kevin Blatt. Ah yes, who better to produce a reality show that ends with the winner eating another human being?
