Huw Hopcyn Daniel is of Welsh origin and was raised in the UK, attending the City University Business School before entering advertising with McCann-Erickson in London. A four time EFFIE winner with twenty-two years of marketing experience, Daniel has lived in London, Paris, Hong Kong and New York, working on some of the world's leading luxury and mass brands, including DeBeers, British Airways, Seiko, Guerlain Accessories & Perfumes, Jean Patou Perfumes, Pentax, 3M, Columbia Pictures and several global P&G brands including Tide, Olay, Head & Shoulders, Ivory and Pampers.

Daniel has lived in the US for the last nine years. Currently based in New York City, he is President of Platinum Guild International USA, the marketing arm of the worldwide platinum jewelry industry. With a mission dedicated to creating and expanding consumer and trade markets for platinum jewelry, PGI-USA nurtures and promotes the desire for platinum jewelry, providing information, expertise and practical help to turn desire into a product and sale.

Prior to joining PGI-USA in early 2003, Daniel was SVP Management Director at ad agency powerhouse Saatchi & Saatchi New York, responsible for Procter & Gamble's 2 billion dollar Tide brand in addition to serving on the agency's Leadership Council. Prior to that, Daniel led the Diamond Marketing Group for J. Walter Thompson in Hong Kong where he managed integrated marketing communications programs for DeBeers in eight Asia Pacific markets including the Peoples Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
