3-D Revolution

3-D cinema ain't just greasy kid stuff anymore. No longer relegated to the B-movie ghetto, digital 3-D is fast becoming the industry standard in Hollywood. "Wired" magazine reports that "nearly every major studio" has a 3-D project scheduled for 2008-2009 release and, according to Fox co-chair Jim Gianopulos, the new technology represents "a bigger quantum leap than talkies ... a complete transformation of the medium."

Described in its MOLI profile as "a killer schedule of downtown events featuring a program of the latest in truly independent films, insightful filmmaker panels, and alcohol-saturated after-parties," it sounds like a lot more fun than freezing your poncy ass off at Sundance.
