HANDBAG DESIGNER

About Hanna Hammarberg

View Profile

Hanna Hammarberg

Hanna Hammarberg, from Sweden, the new face among accessory designers specializing in hand-made leather goods, moved to London in 1997. With her talent for blending different colors in the same materials and distinctive craftsmanship of accessory design, Hanna has been working since graduating with a BA honors in accessory design from the London College of Fashion, initially as a freelance designer for Ghost London for its first leather accessory range, and then on her own range.

Later, as many designers began to see her talent, Hanna then had the opportunity to design for Matthew Williamson, Louis De Gama, Julian Red, and currently as head accessory consultant for Maharishi.

She also has shown her versatility by producing custom made accessories for popular rock band, Dirty Pretty Things and hand-made leather portfolios and menus for Soho House as well as other well-known restaurants.

Hanna Hammarberg design has become recognized by her rocky and quirky, yet functional style, alongside very subtle detailing on experimental shapes, using the best of Italian leathers.

Her collections have been showing at Paris fashion week for two seasons. She is preparing her third collection for the Spring-Summer 2008 show and Hanna Hammarberg is now available worldwide.

More Bags to Bag
By Jana Martin/MOLI

One great bag deserves another. Such as what Hanna Hammarberg's designing (now available on her new MOLI store), and what suddenly appeared like a girly-girl's dream at Target.

Holiday Pop-Up Store!
By Jana Martin/MOLI

Wendy over on Arts & Entertainment street let the Horshack out of the bag: Among our brethren is Ron Palillo, who played Horshack in the '70s hit TV show "Welcome Back Kotter." Turns out Ron's acting and artistic abilities extend a lot farther than his honking laugh and Brooklynese comebacks. And you can let the world know by wearing a T-shirt with his illustration on it, available at MOLI's own Holiday Pop-Up Shop.

Unrequited Green Bag Love
By Cathay Che/MOLI

I first heard about the British designer Anya Hindmarch's "I'm Not a Plastic Bag" green shopping bag while visiting London last spring. I saw a picture of it: natural, unbleached cotton with thick braided hemp handles and the patchworked message in unpretentious, crunchy, wholesome brown. And I heard about how Hindmarch, whose regular handbags sell for up to $1,200, had decided to launch the bag to seduce the masses to be a bit more eco-friendly.
