Roisin Duffy

Roisin Duffy was born and raised in Ireland and still resides there as an artist. She has a simple and fluid style of painting and her subjects are plain forms and shapes not overdone with details. Her favorite subjects involve people and landscapes that are memorable in her life. For each painting Roisin creates, she writes a poem to accompany it. For some pieces the painting comes first and the poem follows, for others the poem comes first. Her advice for aspiring artists is to work hard, keep on course and enjoy the journey.

Just when you thought "Blender" couldn't possibly have any more snarky lists worth soaking up ink, the music magazine comes up with the tantalizing "list of worst lyricists." Destined for the November issue, Reuters reported Monday that the list includes Paul McCartney for such damning works as "Ebony and Ivory," Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin for his dopey Tolkien pilferings on "Ramble On," and Carly Simon for her laborious rhyme schemes in "You're So Vain." But the place where they got it truly right is in the Number 1 spot.
