What the hell is happening??

  I keep hearing of these incidents of tasers being used by police.  Where does this hostility toward every one come from.  Just yesterday I read an article of an elderly woman who was tased for a total of 120 seconds over the course of several minutes by two different officers.  The woman died within the hour.  She was a schizophrenic in a wheelchair.  Is the time it takes to negotiate with people in a non violent manner a way of the past?  I will remember these incidents if I ever end up in a situation where I am being hassled by police.  This incites fear in the population.  I remember back when we were told that police officers were our friends.  You get older and suddenly they are out to get you, because you just happen to be a teenager and you are obviously up to no good.  It never mattered where you were.  If you were babysitting your kid brother at a playground with a couple of your friends, you must be selling drugs or worse.
  It is sad to see how bad this country has fallen.
