I've had an idea for a few years now for a tattoo, a backpiece. It has a lot of ideas included in it, and is thus a little complicated, but could also be simplified if need be.
I took Latin in high school, and the three fates always interested me; their Greek name is the Moirae. One spins the thread of life, one measures it, and the last cuts it. My idea incorporates the Wiccan concept of the three phases of the goddess into the fates- the maiden, the mother and the chrone. I'd like for the three to be gathered underneath a huge tree, the Maiden swinging on a plank swing with the spinning wheel next to her, the Mother sitting on the grass, measuring the thread, and the Chrone standing hunched, either holding the scissors or them lying nearby. The tree can either be allover green, or have its three phases also worked in, with buds, leaves and winter branches.
I love Garver's work, and I wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to get tattooed by him (gotta love being broke) so I think this contest is great =)
Thanks,
