Kara Walker Tomé of Showtel

Description:

Kara Walker Tomé is an independent curator and arts program developer. In addition to the renowned Showtel annual art show that has exhibited more than 100 local artists to date, she also curates exhibitions featuring emerging contemporary artists at galleries and alternative spaces in South Florida.

During the past six years Walker-Tomé has held the position of Education Director at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art (2001-2004) and Director of Program Development at the Armory Art Center (2004-2005).

Walker-Tomé hails from Los Angeles, where she received her Masters of Fine Arts from CalArts and worked in non-profit arts for a decade.
