As the dust settles on yet another successful Oscar night, one of the enduring memories will seemingly be the quality of the platinum jewelry on show.

Neil Lane, who specialises in jewelry for the world's most glamorous men and women, will be particularly satisfied today after seeing dozens of Hollywood stars parading down the iconic red carpet wearing his stunning designs.

Jennifer Hudson, winner of the Oscar for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role, wore platinum drop earrings with two pear-shaped diamonds as well as two 100-carat diamond and platinum bracelets.

The Dreamgirls actress also chose a diamond and platinum ring containing 50-carats of colored diamonds, beautifully complementing her graceful chocolate-brown Oscar de la Renta dress.

Actress Jessica Biel also opted for Neil Lane platinum jewelry, with her diamond, platinum and onyx bracelet and darkened diamond and platinum earrings. The ensemble was completed with a large diamond and platinum ring, stylishly harmonizing with her magenta dress.

Anne Preven, who wrote the songs for Dreamgirls, looked equally spectacular, with long diamond and platinum earrings and a large diamond and platinum ring.

And to demonstrate that platinum jewelry can look equally sophisticated on men, Oscar winner Forest Whitaker chose a diamond and platinum dress cufflink and stud set. Fashion critic Jay Manuel also wore platinum at the 79th Annual Academy Awards, with a decadent diamond and platinum tie-pin.
