Anika Noni Rose, star of Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls, stole the show on the red carpet at the weekend with her breathtaking platinum shoes.

The actress, who enjoyed a successful career on Broadway before making a name for herself in Hollywood, wore Stuart Weitzman Diamond Dream Shoes to the 79th Annual Academy Awards.

The stunning star performed Patience at the glitzy event, alongside co-stars Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Hudson. It was her red carpet stroll that stole the show, however, as photographers zoomed in on her tailor-made shoes.

Noni Rose's shoes were decorated with 1,420 individual Kwiat diamonds, spectacularly set in platinum circles.

Stuart Weitzman has indicated that the $500,000 shoes were designed to reflect Noni Rose's own success story and her excitement at attending the Oscars.

"As Anika pursues and accomplishes her dream, I wanted to recognize this young actress by creating a luxuriously glamorous shoe for her to wear down the red carpet on Hollywood's most celebrated evening," he said.

The platinum star will next be seen alongside legendary Hollywood actor Danny DeVito, in a film titled One Part Sugar. Having set the bar so high with the platinum shoes, however, she now has quite a task in outdoing herself at the forthcoming premiere.
