I Used to Do a Lot of Things

Description:

I used to do a lot of nutty stuff. Like: I used to do journalism in Cali's Central Valley; I went to Fresno State; I used to drive through dense fog on dark nights in order to score good weed in Bakersfield; I took a job in Hanford, before I earned a degree, thinking I'd go back to school very, very soon. I used to swim for hours and hours — especially in the summer of 2004, when this picture was taken — to get over the death of my mother; I used to hang around some amazing journalism friends, many of whom still reside in this neck of the woods.

I used to let my hair hang super-long.
