Forrest and Sol

My oldest, Forrest, is 11. Here he and Sol watch my middle child, Wyatt, play baseball.

I coached Forrest's South Pasadena Little League team last season and it was so difficult that I was crapping blood by the last game.

An important thing to remember when drafting a Little League team is that choosing players is easy; guessing how buck-ass wild their parents will be is another matter altogether. I finished a book during roughly the same span as I coached that team. Let me tell ya, the long-form narrative was a walk along Malibu in comparison.
