People Are a Trip, Example #59

At Coney Island, doing the unthinkable!

On New Year's Day 2008, I woke up early, packed my camera and microphone, donned my rain jacket and boots, and hopped on the subway to Coney Island. There, under rainy and dark skies, hundreds of intense and oddly amusing New Yorkers crowded on the boardwalk and sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" before doing the unthinkable!

People Are a Trip is a video series shot with a crew of one (me!) in New York City. I do spontaneous interviews with people on the street and with influential underground musicians. They answer my blunt questions with the truth of the moment. They are hilarious. No, poetic. Well, maybe quite philosophical.
