Resting Place

Description:
This was taken at the end of a summer rainstorm in Bedford, Wyoming which is a small town in the "Wind RIver Basin" part of western Wyoming.   I was visiting my parents who just built a new home in the foothills of the Wind River Range.  We decided to drive around and drink in the beauty of the area, and ended up stopping in this little cemetery at the top of a hill.  Every time I look at this photo I can smell the clean fresh smell of the rain that had fallen only minutes before. The scene was such a peaceful one ... a beautiful backdrop for those at rest.

I LOVE this photo.  It reminds me of when we lived in Texas, either right before or right after a thunderstorm- peaceful but unexpecting.

Great photograph. I think what I like about it so much is the strong colors. The yellow is clashing with the green and the blue is in the distance.

Oh my gosh...I LOVE this photo.  I could see myself sitting on a blanket drinking my Dr. Pepper and reading a book while enjoying this gorgous scene and feeling the coolness of the weather that appears to be coming in.  So when that weather gets here I am probably going to get wet!  A gorgous cloud photo with a field and a meadow.

Ahhh............Here is a photograph I would love to walk right in to.  --sit on the fence, sniff the coming rain and the sweet smell of new-mown hay as that ever-present Wyoming breeze plays in my hair.  Dead or alive, a fine place to rest!  The colors, balance and perspective all work together.  Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo.  It's my favorite.

Great lighting and you were able to utilize the colors present effectively. The white fence and gold of the crop - wheat stubble after harvest perhaps  - give the image an interesting ethereal feel.   Man and nature did it  - you captured it. True of many great images.
