The dresses, the venues, the flowers, the guests, the food, the hair, the shoes, the make up. Wedding season is here, and for the big day, many brides want perfection, especially in their appearance. If anything less than absolute perfection is unacceptable – especially in hair and make up on the big day (be honest – it’s more important than the dress! – then put Beauty On Call on your speed-dial, for top-of-the-line hair, make up and spa services that come to you.

Founded in 2003 by Stacey Koerner, formerly the Midwest cosmetic buyer for Nordstrom, Beauty on Call originally provided freelance staffing for retail, but quickly branched out to bridal and event services to supply a growing demand. As of 2007 Beauty On Call services are available in Dallas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Las Vegas, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Chicago.

In each city Stacey has employed recruiters to fill a roster of freelance make up artists, hair stylists, estheticians, masseuses etc. Many of these recruiters have worked closely with Stacey in the past and are high caliber artists and stylists themselves. Every potential freelancer is thoroughly screened and personally tested by Stacey’s team. They must use the best products, be absolutely proficient, clean and meet very high standards of client services. Clients are matched to stylists based on brand requests, date availability and personal style. Once a bride is matched with her hair stylist and make up artist the trial dates are set. During the trial the bride has the chance to get acquainted with her stylist/artist, discuss her desired look and work toward the perfect hair and make up for her wedding day.

I recently had my trial with my Beauty On Call make up artist and hair stylist as I am due to wed this spring. Admittedly, my standards are ridiculously high (in truth, I am a spoiled brat). My first trial was for my hair with Erin Geary. I brought photos of what I wanted, but I had concerns over whether the look I wanted would even look good on me. Erin was fantastic, she kept within the look that I had hoped for but made it work in a way that was perfect and original to me. She was friendly, made me feel comfortable and confident in her ability and expressed a real passion for making brides feel beautiful. The following weekend I met with my make up artist Gabriel Almodovar and he was fabulous! I cannot emphasize how picky I am, and how incredibly Gabriel rose to the challenge. I didn’t even have a picture of what I wanted, I simply gave him a few directions and it was as if he read my mind. I went home after my trial and my fiancé exclaimed “wow, you look foxy”…is there a better compliment then foxy? I didn’t think so.

Beauty on Call offers brides accessibility to some of the best talent in the country, making it possible and affordable for them to come to you, a luxury that every bride should have. Prices range from $150-$250 (depending on the level of the artist) for hair, and the same for make up, and include your trial run. (Your wedding party may also want to take advantage of the $75-$100 pricing as well.) Spa services are also available, including manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials. Consider sending your groom a spa service the morning of the wedding to ensure your groom is…uh…groomed on your big day. He deserves to feel beautiful too.

Having a Destination Wedding?

Use Beauty On Call’s Beauty Director service if you are getting married on location. This service provides a make up artist who will shop with you to put together your custom wedding day make up kit and teach you exactly what to do to achieve a professional make up look yourself. A better option then the relying on a make up counter employee at the mall who’ll pressure you to buy and often has little or no formal training.

Check out Beauty On Call’s website - BeautyOnCall.com - and be sure to read up on Stacey’s charity Prescription Well Being, which offers free beauty and spa services to cancer patients, such as wig styling, soothing massage, manicures and make up applications, it’s a wonderful cause.
