Men Are the New Soccer Moms
Courtesy of 23/6CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider thinks men could play a key role in electing America's next president. Democratic hopeful Sen. Barack Obama is running nearly even with John McCain among men, 47% to 49%. Schneider notes:
"In the past nine presidential elections going back to 1972, men have voted for the Democrat only twice: for Jimmy Carter in 1976, when the economy was bad and a Republican was in the White House, and for Bill Clinton in 1992, when the economy was bad and a Republican was in the White House. And in 2008, the economy is again bad — and a Republican is in the White House."
Obama will be stepping up to show men he cares about their number-one issue, the economy, while John McCain will... be doing the same thing too.
How else will Obama and McCain try appeal to that elusive demographic, half of America? We have our hunches.
