                          We enjoyed our time in Roman, though short.  The first evening we walked the Spanish Steps and took in the famous shopping streets - the best time to visit expensive stores is in the evening.  You can enjoy the beautiful designs without feeling compelled to buy The hotel consierge had recommended a trattoria for dinner which proved to be mediocre at best.....However, the red wine was good, and the atmosphere pure Italian.

                          Yes, good wine makes up for many shortfalls.....

                          Last time we were there we had a mediocre meal in a fun restaurant and the wine was good. Maybe when the meal is mediocre you make sure the wine is good and then you don't care.
