One of our authors Marylin has embarked on an adventrue. She is currently in Paris and will soon be going to Korea for a year to teach. She has graciously agreed to send us a journal of her travels and adventrures.

I am sorry to back to you soooo late...I have been working on a special erotic supplement for Chic Today...and it has been so much fun.  Tomorrow...two interviews to knock out and then and Simone Biffi is really ready to promote "Season of Want"  and yes..."The Paris Diaries" is coming along.  I am almost ready to submit it for review and editing...goal is by the end of this month.  Keeping it real time...

Ah, now for the rest...Simone has the jpeg images of the book cover...and well I know there are a lot of pieces of my life up in the air (Visa requirements and the like for South Korea)...I hope to produce a substantial piece of work in South Korea.  I think it will come to me when I am there...so I hope I am not terrifying anyone with my adventures...AND congratulations Yvonne about the movie deal...that...I sincerely hope is my next step.

I had sent over a read ahead of my first version to Vern...but I know he is managing the growth of Triad...and I am SOOO happy that I have been a part of this adventure.  I have been contacted by PA about the trials they are having with Amazon...and I see their point...

OK...on to the next...

I have prepared something...so see what can be used and where.  I leave all of the sorting of the pieces to you and Vern. 

What am I doing now:  Right now I write a column for www.chictoday.com entitled, "Erotic Confessions"  http://show.chictoday.com/eroticconfessions where I address sexual and relationship issues.  Additionally I also use that column to showcase events and literature.  I am also a regular contributor to Chic Today's monthly issues, and have been asked to spearhead a special erotic supplement during the month of May. 

My literary career is just starting, so I feel like I am planting seeds for them to grow through my initial works and my writings for Chic Today.  What has been the most exciting thing for me are all of the wonderful people I have come into contact with.  I feel my articles have given exposure to artists, photographers,writers, and other projects.  This has been a very giving part that I absolutely enjoy.  The column has been a dream of mine and I simply write for the joy of writing and it is a way for the readers to participate.  Whether they agree with me or not, or if they have an issue they want to share, or a question to ask...I take the time to read all of the comments and respond to all questions. 

Why South Korea?  I decided to not take any job, and since I have been used to travelling abroad, an area of the world I have never been to is the Pacific, and I needed to do something meaningful while things are just getting going.  I have decided to teach English for a year and still contribute to Chic Today while I am abroad.  I think there is something valuable about experiencing other cultures.  Too often, a lot of travellers will go abroad expecting the culture to adapt to them.  What the real experience should be...is to adapt and understand the culture you are surrounded by.  Korea is not as Westernized...and I hope to discover and share my experiences through my work....and this is precisely why I call myself an experiential writer. 

Season of Want:  This work is so very close to my heart, in a way it is a rendering of my heart where I wanted to weave together a lot of the kinds of writings I am involved with.  I really felt the need to tell a story in a way that is rarely done with two strong and compelling characters, and to show perhaps, the struggle a lot of people go through when trying to shift an identity...going from a long term relationship to all of a sudden trying to pick up the pieces of a shattered personal life.  A woman that goes from a protective state of being jaded and encountering an ultimate womanizer...and the complex and abstract relationship that unfolds.  A love story, perhaps.  I think that both the characters find out a lot more about themselves through each other and you follow their evolution. 

I am looking forward to many years with Triad...and I am grateful for the magnificient work of French artist Philippe Gotteland.  We had an incredible partnership through this process, and he has graciously agreed to be the artist for the third book.  I also cannot omit the fabulous photography of Ramfis Photographic, the work of Ramfis and Donna Campiz, based in Jacksonville, FL.  No one ever puts together something like this alone...nor should they want to...because it has more meaning with collaboration.
