  1. Van Halen

Last night my friend Rob Caggiano called up with an extra ticket to see Van Halen at the Garden! We had 3rd row seats... thats what they told us from the record company... but it was 3 rows behind the 20th row. Killer any how you look at it.

The band was in top form. M A was replaced by Wolfie! Eddie's 16 year old son. He was GOOD. Very comfortable on stage for his first concert.

I was a fan since Highschool which is when their first record came out, but this was the first time I saw them. Still amazing. A lot of my friends bitching about their age etc... but, screw it. They were amazing. For me, I was fulfilling a highschool dream of sorts.

There was a huge high def screen that was the size of a movie theater screen. You could see detail. You could see Eddie's solos up close. That was impressive as hell! These are things I had always wanted to see. Not them jumping around on stage.

Still, there was confidence from that past time, and it was good to see they still had it. It sounded just like the records. Eddie's guitar sounds were exact and alex's drumming was precise. David's vocals were spot on. And Wolfie.... he can sing and play bass like it was no big deal. You have to love that.

Also, i have to say that seeing the band with David back in.. as it was originally, was the only way to see them. Was never really a fan of Van Hagar... it was good, but hell this was theeee shit!

    nuf said... go see them!
