Just like having a personal credit card, you need to be careful with your spending so you don't put yourself in debt. Below are some key advantages to having a business credit card.

Getting your credit in check
When was the last time you checked your credit? Do you know your credit score? Knowing the answer to both those questions can help you in the long run. It will save you from high interest rates, having to put money down on credit cards and even paying more for insurance. Checking your credit score can also save your from identity theft and insure you can take of any issues quickly. You never know if a situation may come up where you need money and a loan is the only way to get it. Having your credit in check is the best way to keep your finances in order.
If you are in need of a loan check your credit score before you apply. This will help give you an idea if you will be approved for a loan or not. Once you look over your score be sure to check out any negative marks or outstanding accounts on your credit. If it's possible try and get those blemishes off your record and get your accounts in good standing. Also take a look at your debt to income ratio. If your debt is more than what you bring in for the year, it can negatively affect you as well. Lenders will be wry to lend money out if they see that most of your accounts are maxed out or close to it. Getting those balances down shows lenders you have the available credit, but have been smart with your spending. Taking care of your credit can save you thousands of dollars in the long run.

Going into business with your spouse, can it be done?
It's always good to keep your personal life out of your business life, but that can be impossible if you run a business with your spouse. Opinions vary depending on how you look at it, if spouses should work together. Some say it can be done, while others say it's impossible. When you think about it, it really depends on the relationship you have with your spouse and if both parties can separate your business and personal lives.
A few weeks back, MSNBC.com ran an article in their Your Biz section on the subject. The section is dedicated to giving business owners informative information dealing with health care, taxes and everything in between. The article gives some good pros and cons if starting a business with your spouse is possible. To read this article and check out more small business news from msnbc.com click here.
