  1. Bad Dog

    24.Jan.08, 07:31 EST
Yesterday I was a bad dog.  I actually ran away from home.  Well, not on purpose, it's just I was bored and curious.

I was wandering around the yard and somehow realized my collar that usually beeps when I get too close to the edge of the electric fence wasn't going off.  Hmmmm I guess it is OK to go over this way.  I heard the kids in the yard across the field playing and then I saw a kitty cat.  That was it.  Over to the neighbors I go!

They busted me!  Called Mom from my ID tag.  Kill joy!  Not only did she come and get me, but she also fixed my collar so it works again.  Then I wasn't allowed out without a leash for the rest of the day.  AND I think she thought I forgot all my shock training.  She walked me over to the place where I walked through and tried to get me to walk through.  I remember the feeling of the shock and I wouldn't do it!

Well the freedom was good while it lasted.  Now I am in the doghouse (figuratively).  I will try and be better tomorrow.
  2. Can I Go Out Please?

    10.Jan.08, 09:26 EST
I love being home.  Here is what I do:  I have a chair with a cushion in front of the big picture window that I can sit in all day and watch what is happening outside.  There isn't a whole lot out here  - the garbage trucks, the mailmail, sometimes a stray car, but there is a lot of "wild" life.  The squirrels taunt me all day.  I amm sitting in the window and they sun by, up the tree and alll around the yard.

hen I get worked up enough I go crazy.  I start barking and running in circles until Mom lets me out.  Then I go out and chase the squirrels, but I never catch them.  I wish I could clib trees then I cold catch them.  I run and run until I am tired, or bored, then I bark to go back inside.  I do this ALL DAY long.

Mom sometimes gets mad at me and yells at me, especially when I start really early in the morning.  Then I TRY and be good for a while.

Sophie isn't allowed out alone.  Here is what Sophie does all day:

  3. New Year's Resolutions

    03.Jan.08, 09:17 EST

I sat down and thought I would write a New Years Resolution list for 2008.  But, before doing it, I thought I would review and cooment on LAST years resolution and see how I did:

    So Here is 2007 list:

    - I will be nicer to Sophie. I promise I won't torment her too much. Ha!  Didn't do this!  I was as mean as ever and even added some new tricks to my repetoire.

    - I will try and teach Sophie how to behave and not egg her on.  Double Ha!  Not only did I net teach her to behave, but I got her to bark more and cause even more trouble this year!

    - I will be better and try not to misbehave so much.  I give myself about a C on this one -- I don't think I was any better, but I don't think I got any worse either.

    - I won't lick Mom's face at 5:00 AM.  Failed!  Still do it, in fact when we are in Sarasota, I now start in at 4:30 AM.....

    - I will try not to kill lizards. Well, what can I say, once again a resolution that was futile.  I will say that I didn't have as much opportunity to chase lizards as usual so that kinda counts......

    - I won't go in the pool then ask to come in the house without drying off first Hmmmm - why did I promise THAT?  What was I thinking.  Nothing better than tracking mud in the house.

    - I won't bark at the neighbor's dog.  OK I can call this one a success -- but thats only cuz the neighbors only have one dog now.  And she doesn't make any noise at all.

    - I will try and write in my blog more often.  Yay!  a success!  I have been pretty diligent in writing in my blog -- in fact I moved my blog and created a whole MOLI Dog site so I don't have to wait for Mom.  And with the new blogs, you get to see more pictures of me and Sophie cuz its easier to add pictures!

Wow.  Not a good year for resolutions I would say.  Maybe I should re-think making any for 2008.  I could just publish the same list this year and try again.  Or maybe I should come up with more achievable goals.

So here are some new ones for this year:

    - I will stop biting toes.  When I get excited and want attention I bite toes -- I don't really know how bad it hurts but it does.  I need to stop biting toes.

    - I will stop licking faces if people don't want me to.  I forget that not everyone likes my kisses.

    - I will have more meetups with the Yorkie group

    - I will invite more dogs to join MOLI

    - and of course, all of last years..... :)

  4. Whats Your Business is My Business

    27.Dec.07, 11:52 EST

Sophie and I are busy bodies.  Mom can't do anything without us.  She goes upstairs.  We go upstairs.  She sits on the couch.  We sit on the couch.  She goes to Sarasota.  We go to Sarasota.

So you can imagine our suprise when she came home the opther night and took us for our normal walk, gave us dinner, then said I am going out and you can't come.  The look of sadness that came over our faces were astounding.  How dare she!  Go out and leave us alone!

So we got in our positions - I sat next to the door so I would know right away when she got home.  Sophie went and slept in her bed.  Every car that went by made me jump up and look.  She didnt even leave the TV on for us!

Just as I was nodding off to sleep I heard the garage door open.  Finally! So Sophie and I lined up by the garage door and started barking.  In comes Mom -- with lots of bags.

We are happy to see her and she misses us too.  Then she calls out to us and we run over to the bed.  She bought us presents!  Nice new bones!

Well at least if she had to go out without us, it was nice that she was thinking about us while she was gone!

Now we will go back to following her around.

  5. Sophie and the Hanukkah Gift

    13.Dec.07, 08:42 EST
So for the last night of Hanukkah Sophie and I got a new toy.  It was a big stuffed dreidel!  I played with it a little then Sophie stole it away and wouldn't share.  The toy was so big she could barely grab it in her mouth.

We also got some new chews.  They were really big.  I chewed about half of mine though in one sitting.  Then guess what?  Sophie stole that too!  She takes all the toys and chews and stockpiles them.  I couldn't find my shew so I went up on the bed.  Here is what she had:  the new dreidel toy, her new chew, my new chew and two old rawhides!

Time for my attack.  Sophie closed her eyes and I swooped in - stole her new chew (almost new) and made a quick getaway.  Boy was Sophie pissed!

  6. Our Trip to Santa

    10.Dec.07, 10:29 EST
On Saturday Mom and Grandma took us to Petco to get our picture taken with Santa.  Now first of all, Petco is my FAVORITE place to go anyway, but seeing SANTA!!!

Now being Jewish, I know that Santa REALLY doesn't exist, and this Santa was PARTICULARLY dubious (beard falling off, etc).  But what they heck!  Its the holidays.  AND if I  PRETEND to believe, maybe I will get some good presents!

So Mom paid the money and we get in line -- Mom even let us use HER hairbrush so we would look pretty.   There was a big setter in line in front of us who wouldn't sit still for  the picture so it took extra long.

While we were waiting, there was a table for Greyhound rescue dogs and there were two GIGANTIC greyhounds behind us.  I played with them - Sophie was scared and kept trying to get Mom to pick her up (which Mom eventually did).

Grandma was a little disgusted by the whole ordeal.  She thought it was a little silly us getting our picture taken and all.  We liked it though.  And afterward we got to run around Petco and got some more dog food and stuff!

So you are probably anxious to see the picture......

  9. Another Great Day at the Dog Park

    27.Nov.07, 07:47 EST
Saturday we went to Okeeheelee Park again. I am actually suprised Mom took us there cuz we were being bad all morning AND it looked like it was going to rain. Maybe she was just sick of us and wanted to tire us out.... whatever the reason, I still love the park.

I have now been to the park enough times that I know when we are almost there. Its the same thing I do when I go to Grandma's -- when we make that turn into her subdivision, I know EXACTLY where we are. So I could tell we were near the park and I went C-R-A-Z-Y !!! I even got Sophie all riled up.

So we get to the park and I couldn't wait to get my leash off and check out the company. Lots of little dogs today! Yay!! Lots of strange dogs too --- there were two almost yorkies -- one was a yorkie-chihuahua mix and the other was a yorkie-pomeranian mix! Wow!

Everybody oohed and aahed over me and Sophie. Everyone likes Sophie cuz she is so little and cute. But I go up to everyone and give them big kisses. I ran around and around and wore myself out. I sat on the benches with the people - not on the ground with the dogs.

So I was worn out and ready to go home. Sophie was too -- her tongue was sticking WAY out. We get in the car and fall asleep almost immediately. And then it started POURING down rain. Oh to sleep in the rain! A good day all around......
  10. A Dog's Eye View of Thanksgiving

    20.Nov.07, 13:13 EST
Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays.  I am not sure which I like more --- the food or the people.

I LOVE turkey.  I always get the liver and neck.  Of course I have to share with Sophie, but thats OK cuz I know MORE TURKEY is coming!!  Forget about all the side dishes -- I can live without those -- who needs vegetables when there is a good old bird.  The other thing about the turkey is there are ALWAYS leftovers.  Humans cook WAY too much food and they don't mind sharing ... in fact they can't think of enough incarnations of left over turkey.  There is always the 'ugh I am sick of turkey, give it to the dogs' (yay!)

The second reason I love Thanksgiving is cuz there are lots of people to play with ..... after the turkey-tripto thing, there is always someone to cuddle up with for a good nap.  Oh yeah -- and then there's the need to "walk it off" so that usually means an extra walk for me.

Oh -- did I forget? Its also a day off work so we aren't left alone all day.

And it's not one of those silly holidays that I get dressed up -- no turkey feathers of indian headdresses for me!
