  3. Without You

    27.Jan.08, 21:40 EST
This is the little animation I made when I was 14 in my sister's doll house and really got me my start, it did quite well on the festival circuit and wound up on HBO and HBO Family. I originally had used the Sinatra version of I Get Along Without You Very Well that ran in the festivals, but it was Carly Simon who was gracious enough to give me her version to air on T.V. It kills me that there is not a better quality version of this available online, oh well, maybe one day.

  4. Ryan's Reels

    27.Jan.08, 21:34 EST
Here are to my two clay animation reels, which feature 10 years worth of clips and, I believe, really show my growth over the years.

    1. 1997-2002 A Collection of shots from various clay-animated projects I worked on between the ages of 14 and 19. Some of the films featured are, "Without You," "The Isles," "Put To Sleep," "Clayton's Choice," "Beautiful," "Real Men Wear Hawaiian Shirts," and a bunch more, including some commercials.

    2. 2002-2006 This is a collection of shots from various clay-animated projects I worked on between 2002 and 2006. Some of them include "Happiness," the never completed "Forrest," some environmental commercials, and a bunch more other cool stuff.

  5. Beautiful

    27.Jan.08, 21:29 EST
“Beautiful” was shot in one weekend for a school project on Super 8 film in 2002. It premiered at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. I used the score from Cinema Paradiso, but as a Christmas present last year Robert Litton wrote an original score for the film's new cut which will be out by the end of the year.

  7. Environmental Commercials

    27.Jan.08, 20:10 EST
I did a handful of environmental commercials for Vacaville and Rohnart Park a few years back. Here are four of them.

    1. Oil Rap:
This song was written by my Dad and Randy Biagi and performed by them and Rob Broadhurst and I. The theme was encouraging people to rectcle their used oil, and appeal to men, we just made it silly and hoped it would work. Note: 4 years after I made it, on my wedding day, My groomsmen went to a bar between my wedding and my reception for drinks while I was getting my pictures taken, and saw it playing on T.V.

    2. Happy Holms: This next one was for recycling, using the yellow bins, so we decided to go with an interior designer because home make-over shows were getting popular. I think it was Terri Biagi who came up with the concept.

    3. Smart Humans: Rohnert Park asked me to do this ad for them to let people know that they now had a can that you could put ALL recyclables in, instead of separating them. I love these three characters.

    4. Dancing Don: By far my most popular commercial, this one focused on TWO points. One was not to dump things down storm drains, and the other was to sweep leaves away from the storm drain. By the time the narrator character (who they had me model after an actual county employee) finished saying everything he needed to say, the commercial was over. There was no romm in the running time for filler or entertainment. So I had Rob Broadhurst sing the script when we were recording it and threw in a lot of silly visuals like a triceratops and it turned out great.
