                      1. Can one person make a difference?

Can one person make a difference?

I was watching TV over the weekend and a movie that I had watched sometime back was playing called Pay It Forward so I put it on and watched it again. It really got me thinking about where we are as people, especially this time a year when everyone seems to be just a little nicer than normal.

During the first part of the movie the teacher played by Kevin Spacey gave an assignment to his class which I would like to give to you all right now. The assignment is as follows:

Think of an idea to change our world and put it into action.

So my challenge is let’s put the idea of one person being able to make a difference and really think about that one thing we can do to make the world a better place and put it into action.  The idea will be to tell everyone what your idea is here in this blog and then update everyone on your progress.

The idea that the young child played by Haley Joel Osment came up with was to Pay it Forward. The idea being to help 3 people accomplish something that they could not have done without help and then not have them pay you back regardless of the help, but instead they would intern pay it forward by helping 3 more people. This would continue to grow from there as you can see 3 helping 3 would be 9 and then that 9 helping 3 would be 27 and so on.

So maybe if we all just took this concept and put it into action we could really make an impact. So if you accept this challenge let us know what your plan is and then update us on your progress. This could be fun hearing what everyone is doing and how it is going, and could also really start to make an impact.

                      2. The Journey

                        01.Oct.07, 14:47 EDT
Looking back on life, if having things turn out the way you wanted is the measure of a successful life, then some would say that i am a failure. The important thing is not to be bitter over lifes disappointments but to learn to let go of the past and recognize that everyday want be a sunny and when you find yourself lost and alone in the darkness and despair remember that it is only in the black of night that you can see the stars and the stars will lead you back home.
So dont be afraid to make mistakes and stumble and fall because most of lifes greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you will get everything you wished for, maybe you will get more than you could have ever imagined.
Who knows where life will take you but just remember it is the journey and how you get there that is important and not the destination.
