Each bar is made with all-natural ingredients and ethically traded, shade-grown cacao which means it was grown under the natural canopy of the forest by farmers earning a fair wage in humane working conditions. Each chocolate bar wrapper has artwork of an at-risk species with educational information about the plight of that animal on the inside. 3oz. All-natural, ethically traded Bars Endangered Species Chocolate offers 19 different varieties of gourmet, all-natural and ethically traded 3oz. chocolate bars in 3 different single-origin flavor profiles. Each delicious white, milk or dark chocolate bar is packaged in artwork of an at-risk species from aritst Judi Rideout and is packed with environmental conservation information as well as educational information about the plight of the species it displays. You can read the back of the label if you would like to learn about the term "ethically traded" and a little about ESC. (*Standard amount per display box is 12 bars) Ethically Traded Our cocoa is 100% ethically traded. Philosophically, ethical trade and fair trade are one in the very same. We buy our cocoa from small family-owned properties, helping sustain the habitats and communities in which they exist. This cocoa is grown in the natural shade of rich, diverse forests. Choosing our chocolate is one way you can help support sustainable forest farmland and the species that flourish there. Since our cocoa is ethically traded, farmers are ensured humane working conditions and a fair price for their cocoa or a fair wage. Attention: The Vegan certification logo was mistakenly printed on our Smooth Organic Milk Chocolate with Peanut Butter 1.4 ounce bar (the giraffe). The logo was printed on labels with “Enjoy by” dates from 12/20/07 to 4/17/08. We apologize for this error and will take additional measures to ensure it does not happen again.
