Franky & Minx started in March of 2001 with the idealistic view of creating a company that combined street ethics with business. Minx had the firm belief that if a brand was started based on respect, that it would grow to earn respect. Our friends have been by our sides -- modeling, getting us in the press, wearing our line on stage, and helping with all the details on the way. Our street posse is made up of amazing people from all over the world who believe in who we are and what we do. With a lot of blood, sweat and tears, we're growing. To date, Franky & Minx has only been available at a handful of boutiques, with limited availability. That's going to change!
Now, in 2007, we're working hard to bring you loads of new products - on February 18th, you'll be able to find them at Spencer's stores nationwide and at Spencer's Online.
For those of you just tuning in, thank you, and for all of those who have been with us since day one, all we can say is you're amazing, and mad respect for believing in the dream.
Heidi Minx - President and Muse....Minx keeps busy trying to fight growing old conventionally. She has lived all over the world and has been active in various scenes for the past 18 years. Well trenched in music and fashion, she grew up with many of the bands that shaped the scene as we know it today. Whether at the old punk and hardcore shows on the East Coast, 2 Tone and Oi! gigs in London or at all night ska and Northern Soul do's on NSRA scooter rallies in the UK -She has never strayed far from her roots.
Her personal ink collection includes work by Chris Garver, Cartoon, Elvis, Toshio Shimada and Troy Denning. In addition to contributing CD reviews and articles to magazines like YRB and Hardcore Ink, she frequently models for tattoo magazines, is a proud 'Varla Girl', and is also co-hostess of Punk Rock Domestics. Whenever possible, she attends Buddhism classes and customizes apparel.
Elvis - Creative Director... Elvis has been tattooing for the past eight years... he did his first tattoo on himself at the ripe old age of 12. After moving to New York, he worked at Fun City; the legendary New York Hardcore Tattoos, owned by Murphy's law frontman Jimmy Gestapo, and Vinnie Stigma of Agnostic Front, and currently is working to open Side Show Tattoos with friends in Austin, TX. Elvis' tattoo artwork can be seen on stage on Andrew WK, Travis (Gym Class Heroes), Aaron (Tossers), Bif Naked, and Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front).
Music plays a big roll in both of their lives. Elvis plays guitar, and both can frequently be found at shows, or out on the road with friends' bands.
