Robert Goulet died at age 73. He was an overnight sensation in "Camelot" in 1960, but his time as a sensation was short-lived. By 1970 he seemed dated. They just weren't making musicals any more and the variety show format on TV was fading. For the last 30-plus years, he was relegated to Vegas and sort of camp status. He seemed fine with it and made a good living. Timing isn't everything. But it's a lot. If he were 10 years older, his career might have been so much greater. If he'd have come along 10 years later with same pipes and face, he would have had no career.
