  3. 4 years and three months cancer free!

Friday, I went to New York for the day for my check-up with Dr. Singh at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He said everything looks good. I go up there every 6 months for a check-up. Going on 4 years and three months cancer free now. The only problem I really have now is the tightening of the skin on the forehead, the dryness of the flap on the interior of the mouth, and having to sleep upright so I don't put pressure on that side of my face. But other than that, I'm doing well. Dr. Singh seems very pleased with my outcome so far and really sees that I found my calling with what I am doing with Grind For Life to help people with cancer. He said I have so much to offer people when it comes to surviving cancer and educating and inspiring people. Thanks to him and the others at MSKCC for helping me get through this.

Binky throws a great event every year at the Skatepark of Tampa. It's not really a contest , it's more like a get together for everyone to wrap up the year and have some fun. I ended up winning the 40 and up division and won a nice deck trophy that Chuck Hults from Deckcrafters made. I'll see you guys there next year.

We will also be at Skatepark of Tampa for the Tampa Am and Tampa Pro 2008 with the Grind For Life booth set up.

The 5th annual benefit and awards ceremony for the GFL skate park series held on Nov 17th raised almost $7000. This year we had people come from all over the country to be there. We had Benji Galloway fly in from Vancouver Washington. We also had Buck Smith, a Florida legend come out to support the cause. AJ Kohn and JJ O'Donnell from Philly came down to flatland/freestyle and put on a demo and helped the kids to learn some skills. We also had Revolution's skateboard team come in from Las Vegas to be a part of it all. Everyone was especially stoked and totally overwhelmed to see Aaron, AKA Wheels kill the park on his wheelchair skateboard. We also had Adam Taylor & Dylan Taylor there to sign autographs and skate. They are living in California so it was nice to have them come in to be a part of their hometown event.

We would like to thank everyone who was involved this year for their time and support!

We are currently working on the schedule for 2008 and should have it posted within the week. So many events. Possibly doing all the AST Dew Tour events. Definitely Florida Bowl rider series, Tampa am and Tampa Pro booth set-up. We are definitely doing the Clash at Claremont event on March 8 in California. Also, I will skating in World Cup Bowl Series events. I finished 15th in the Masters 2007 by skating 3 events. I finished 2nd in the Florida Bowl riders series this year in the Masters Division.

We also have in the works "1ST ANNUAL SLASH & THRASH" contest in Spring 2008. One day of surfing and one day of skateboarding, here in Cocoa Beach. Each competitor must do both, surf & skate and will be judged on both. This will be the FIRST OF IT'S KIND in the history of surfing and skating. We are going to have age groups and thinking of adding a pro division.

Check out the Skate Shop on the website for great holiday gifts!
