    ‘Sex and the City’ stylist brings NYC to London town

    It is probably the deal that would make the Topshop team cry in outrage for not thinking of it first: Fashion stylist of the moment, Patricia Field, is to create a range for Marks & Spencer, set for release in October.

    Catapulted to fame for her unique styling of Ugly Betty, The Devil Wears Prada, and Sex and the City (the TV series and movie), designer Patricia Field’s range will be distributed not only in UK stores and the M&S website, but in selected international markets that M&S operate in.

    When asked what the she hoped to accomplish with her latest collaboration, Patricia Field stated;
    “The Patricia Field for M&S Collection will be a unique chance to make New York’s hottest styles part of every woman’s wardrobe. It embodies the splashy and exuberant lifestyle that I have consistently created in my work with superstars as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Lucy Liu, or Meryl Streep. The collection has a luxury appeal with a wink to on-trend, high octane glamour, and focuses primarily on dresses as well as a capsule collection of tops, trousers, and accessories.”

    You can expect the 35-piece collection to feature luxurious silk, georgette, metallic, and stretch satin fabrics, highlighted by bold statements such as polka dots, stars, stripes, and animal prints.

    The collection’s focal pieces will include a ‘floral print dress in champagne and black with puff ball skirt; a shift style dress in deep turquoise with wide flowing chiffon sleeves; and a black stretch satin corseted halter-neck dress.’

    Marks & Spencer is said to be delighted on clenching this deal, but why did Ms Field select the old-school British retailer? Well, she didn’t want to limit her audience and believes the iconic High Street brand understands “women of all ages.”

    With such an exclusive collaboration (expected to be stocked in only ten lucky M&S department stores) you’ll have to be quick to get an essential signature staple à la Patricia Field hanging in your wardrobe this autumn. Almost makes you want the summer to finish early.
