Yesterday I was hanging out with some friends at Elliot Key, a beautiful sand bar and hang out place in the middle of the Florida waters. I was appalled by the fact that so many people were throwing trash, plastic bottles, mainly, into the water and letting them just drift away. I was able to clean up a few that were swimming distance from me, which today I am feeling the pain due to my lack of exercise!
This got me to thinking how hard it is for us who live on Miami Beach to actually make a difference when it comes to recycling. I recently started recycling all the plastic bottles we use for water, and have not been able to find a place in Miami Beach that collects them! Although its the law in Miami-Dade for all condos to have recycling services, non implement it. We all need to get together and make it a reality. Yes, it will cost an additional fee each month, but I think its worth it, if not for us, for the next generations.
thanks!
