Hello blog readers, as you can imagine from my tour schedule, getting online is sometimes quite difficult. In fact, Im sneaking online while Im at sound check right now.
I was planning to keep the diary chronological, but we're gonna have to "skip" forward and talk about the show we did on June 21st @ the Glastonbury Festival In the U.K.,
This is the U.K.s biggest music Fest I believe, about 140,000 tickets were sold this year. In the Picture below - , lets just say it's ONLY 1/6 of the amount of people we jammed for.
Don't worry, I'll go back and cover some of the events from Finland, Norway, Cork and Dublin in a moment ;)
But of course, if you've been keeping up, this glastonbury festival has stirred up quite a bit of controversy.
Way back in April, while we were still doing the Heart of the City Tour with Mary J Blige, a fellow by the name of Noel Gallagher, the lead singer of a group called Oasis made the statement that Jay-z should NOT headline this huge monstrous UK festival called the Glastonbury. In his words - I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong. http://www.nme.com/news/oasis/35873
That's what you get for poppin off Noel. Music is universal homey, open that mind up...
Here below though is the cool "exclusive" content.
I was able to get a bit of footage from backstage, so you can SEE what it looks like from behind the turntables, and catch a better Idea of the massiveness of this festival.
By far this was the highlight of the tour, and possibly of my so called career...
Peace and thank you to the Glastonbury Festival and U.K. , and of course to Jay-z for bringing me on to be part of this historic night....
