Green: it signifies earth, nature, and in a broader sense life.

In metaphysics of the New Age the colour is associated with creative intelligence. Its biological hues symbolically represent the fourth (Anahata) chakra, and in many Latin cultures portrays health and growth.

So it seems wholly appropriate that Wimpole Street’s two year old alternative health clinic, with its emerald walls and calming ambiance, is christened The Green Room.

The clinic’s practitioners, with their strong belief in the power of the mind-body connection, have an ongoing commitment to introducing a holistic approach to their clients, by providing access to the best alternative healthcare approaches in a tranquil, soothing environment.

The thinking behind The Green Room is simple. It is all about getting your life in balance. The specialists there believe that, just as in nature, good health is achieved through balance and that when we have equilibrium in our lives we feel healthy. So with this in mind they offer a myriad of services from clinical hypnotherapy to counseling; physiotherapy to psychotherapy.

Acupuncturist Natasha Barnes, who is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture, has worked at The Green Room for 18 months and treats patients with a “mixed bag” of conditions including back problems, arthritis, depression, asthma, fibrositis, high blood pressure, migraines, menstrual problems, rheumatism, sciatica, and infertility. Her treatment focuses on improving the overall physical and emotional well being of the patient by working on the body's energy, or Qi.

Qi runs though the energy channels of the body ands rises to the surface of the skin, where it can be stimulated by using acupuncture points. Insertion of fine needles into the appropriate acupuncture point can stimulate the body's own healing response and help restore its natural balance. Natasha explains the concept in simple terms: “When we’re healthy our energy circuit is free-flowing. When we’re not, acupuncture helps to correct the energy flow.”

Also at the clinic is vivacious life coach Lynn Blades, who is immaculately and appropriately dressed in a stunning jade dress. Her infectious enthusiasm for life must surely facilitate her role as a motivational, inspiring, positive, and action-driven guide who helps clients confront challenges and take responsibility in their lives. “I deal with people going through divorce. People going through a transition, a big change in their lives. I’m not a counselor. I look at the present and the future. At moving forward.”

The clinic offers a variety of treatments including Shiatsu/Japanese facial massage, pilates, nutrition consultations, Alexander technique, osteopathy, and naturopathy and is part of The Medical Practice at 48 Wimpole Street. .
